The Space Lit Circle continues at Kunstbau and glitch!

After exploring urban and social spaces, architecture, and even outer space in conjunction with "Hello, My Name is Kunstbau." we will now read feminist perspectives on space, the body, and sound. We will complete this with a visit of Dan Flavin’s installation “untitled (for Ksenija)” at Kunstbau.

All dates

at glitch (Barer Straße 70)
Anne Carson, “Plainwater” (excerpts)
Excerpts from “Bodies of Sound” (eds. Irene Revell, Sarah Shin)

Wednesday, November 26, 7–9 p.m.
at Kunstbau
Sara Ahmed, “Queer Phenomenology” (excerpts)
Iris Marion Young, “Throwing like a girl”

About the Lit Circle

Our reading group continues - and transforms itself anew each time: into a Sci-Lit (science fiction), Sur-Lit (surrealist texts) or Space-Lit Circle. Depending on the topic, we look at different literary forms. We meet once a month and read texts together that are in dialogue with current exhibitions at the Lenbachhaus or topics from the glitch cosmos. Poetry, novels, theory, comics, whatever appeals to us.

We read in German and English and speak in German and English – depending on the composition of the group. It's good to read the texts before the meeting. We only read small extracts together and then enter into dialogue. Depending on the topic, the meetings take place either in the glitch bookstore or in the Lenbachhaus – sometimes we also visit exhibitions together if it suits the literature.

Information on Accessibility: The Kunstbau is accessible via an elevator. More information here (PDF). If you have any questions or special needs, please write to us at kunstvermittlung-lenbachhaus[at]muenchen.de.
