With "Hello, my name is Kunstbau.", the Lit-Circle becomes a Space-lit Circle – we read texts about spaces: museum space, surroundings, spaces in between, cities, rooms, social spaces. We will read fictional and non-fictional texts, discover places from above or read spaces from feminist perspectives.

All dates:

Wed, July 2, 7pm–9pm
at Kunstbau
(Public) space from a feminist and queer perspective with texts by Matrix – Making Space, Rebecca Endler and Sara Ahmed

Wed, July 30, 7pm–9pm
at Kunstbau
Lyrical, poetic, experimental with texts by Georges Perec, Monika Rinck and Samantha Harvey

About the Lit Circle

Our reading group continues - and transforms itself anew each time: into a Sci-Lit (science fiction), Sur-Lit (surrealist texts) or Space-Lit Circle. Depending on the topic, we look at different literary forms. We meet once a month and read texts together that are in dialogue with current exhibitions at the Lenbachhaus or topics from the glitch cosmos. Poetry, novels, theory, comics, whatever appeals to us.

We read in German and English and speak in German and English – depending on the composition of the group. It's good to read the texts before the meeting. We only read small extracts together and then enter into dialogue. Depending on the topic, the meetings take place either in the glitch bookstore or in the Lenbachhaus – sometimes we also visit exhibitions together if it suits the literature.

Information on Accessibility: The Kunstbau is accessible via an elevator. More information here (PDF). If you have any questions or special needs, please write to us at kunstvermittlung-lenbachhaus[at]muenchen.de
