Names. Voices. Hearts.

A new sound installation by artist Talya Feldman and sound designer Carlos Ángel Luppi, in collaboration with the Munich OEZ Erinnern Initiative, and featuring music by Árwy and Berivan Kaya.

Dedicated to the nine angels who lost their lives in a racist attack on July 22, 2016: Armela Segashi, Can Leyla, Dijamant Zabërgja, Guiliano Kollmann, Hüseyin Dayıcık, Roberto Rafael, Sabine S., Selçuk Kılıç, and Sevda Dağ.

Namen. Stimmen. Herzen offers a sonic space for remembrance and resilience. It honors these nine souls through a composition composed of the city of Munich itself: the soundscapes of their lives. The twinkling of sound for Armela, the cheers of a football stadium for Can, the Abix and parks for Dijamant, the youth center and school for Guiliano, the waves of Greece and dreams of riding to Mecca, checking in from above for Hüseyin, the echoing chants for Roberto and Sabine, the kickboxing studio for Selçuk, the night, light, and gentle wind for Sevda. Wing beats like the angels. It tells the story of their families and their unceasing fight for justice and solidarity through a decade of their archived speeches, protests, interviews, and poems. And through the songs that have carried them these last ten years – representing their loss, love, strength, and hope for a better future.
