After the "Lange Nacht der Museen" (English: "Long Night of Museums" ) was canceled in 2020, more than 60 Munich galleries, museums and other cultural institutions in Munich will open their doors in the new year for the "Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen 2021".

To ensure a safe visit for all guests, the concept has been adapted in line with the pandemic: This year, the "Lange Nacht" will start an hour earlier than usual and last from 6 pm to 1 am. Ticket sales will be handled exclusively via a centralized and personalized ticketing system. The ticket is a combination ticket for public transport and can be used to travel comfortably to and from museums by subway, suburban train, bus and streetcar in the entire MVV tariff area. Group Dynamics – Collectives of the Modernist Period:
Preview exclusively for the "Lange Nacht"!

Beijing, Buenos Aires, Bombay (today’s Mumbai), Casablanca, Khartoum, Kyoto, Lahore, Łódź, Nsukka, São Paulo, Tokyo: in the twentieth century, artists all over the world banded together in collectives. The tendency of like-minded individuals to work in groups and support each other is universal; yet the concerns pursued by these groups, their aesthetic methods, political objectives, and utopian visions, express themselves in widely diverse ways depending on the time and place. The exhibition "Group Dynamics—Collectives of the Modernist Period" examines selected examples to shed a light on the emergence and evolution of collectives and their engagement with the societies and cultures around them.
